Los veintisiete de la Unión Europea no son veintisiete en política exterior, como en muchos otros temas. En este caso son veintiséis más uno. Lo ha confirmado David Lidington, secretario de Estado británico para Asuntos Europeos en unas declaraciones sobre el Servicio Europeo de Acción Exterior. El señor Lidington ha declarado que el ministro de Exteriores británico, William Hague, ha dado instrucciones a las embajadas en todo el mundo para que tengan cuidado con los intentos de asumir competencias por parte de la UE. Es un torpedo en la línea de flotación del SEAE. Según la ministra de exteriores española, Hague le comentó que él es un europeísta, pero que los británicos no aceptan ceder poder a la UE. Como en otros tantos temas, este experimento que es la Unión Europea tiene aspectos incomprensibles.
