Chipre y la Europa de los mercaderes

¿Para qué sirve formar parte de la Unión Europea? Los ciudadanos de la Unión Europea estamos secuestrados por los políticos y por los banqueros, secuestradas nuestras expectativas de futuro y destrozadas nuestras ilusiones por el presente.

La Unión Europea se ha convertido en el espacio de los mercaderes, y acaba de abrir la caja de Pandora al decidir de forma unilateral romper con la seguridad jurídica en relación con el ahorro en Chipre como condición para el rescate europeo. Existe una ausencia total de liderazgo, y la Unión se mueve a golpe de improvisación.

¿Es posible que unas cuantas personas de la maquinaria burocrática europea puedan decidir el futuro de millones de ahorradores abriendo paso a la especulación de cuál será el siguiente país en sufrir sus geniales soluciones? ¿No tienen los burócratas europeos más imaginación que la que han mostrado hasta ahora?

Hoy se dan sin embargo las condiciones para que millones de ciudadanos se hagan oír a través de iniciativas de movilización en las redes sociales. El movimiento generado en Italia por Beppe Grillo tratando de romper el poder omnímodo de la clase política ha sido el primer ensayo.

No quiere decir que las iniciativas populares no tengan que depurarse para hacer que la oligarquía en la que vivimos sea consciente de que existimos las personas, y que es necesario llevar la voz de los ciudadanos a las instituciones europeas. Hay que conseguir que el Parlamento Europeo sea un verdadero representante de los ciudadanos y que las decisiones tengan un filtro del Parlamento.

Not that popular initiatives that have not treated to make the oligarchy in which we live is aware that people exist, and that we need to bring the voice of the citizens to the European institutions. We must ensure that the European Parliament is a true representative of the people and that the decisions of Parliament have a filter.
